IATSS

It was truly a great blessing and a privilege for me to have been part of the IATSS Forum.

The program offered varied learning experiences and opportunities: visiting captivating places, and appreciating the culture and people of Japan; learning from great professors and lecturers; working and building ties with wonderful and brilliant young professionals from ASEAN countries, and bringing pride to our respective countries- all these provide avenues to learn more about leadership in a global perspective.

I personally learned that good leadership means being able to make every differing opinions and personalities come together and work for a common goal. It is not about finding faults; it is rather about discovering and focusing on the “good” of everyone, and finding out how can all these “goods” bring out the best of the group. It is where I have valued the importance of embracing the idea of respect for different leadership styles. Respect for the diverse nature of the members, and similarly, respect for someone in leadership position, earns respect for one’s self too.

I truly had great fun as I learned a lot during my 55 days in the beautiful country of Japan. The hardworking staff made every event possible and successful- Hats off to all of you!

Stress wasn’t so successful in putting its toil on me, for I did not only think and learn together with my batchmates, but I also have grown with them. Each one was just simply amazing and unforgettable.

To the coming new batch, I wish you all the best, and don’t forget that wisdom is gained when we’re open to learn “new things” from others and from the WORLD around us.

More Power to IATSS!
